Bridging Medway finalists announced

The finalists of Bridging Medway, the art competition run by Nucleus Arts in partnership with the Rochester Bridge Trust, have now been announced.

Artists of all ages were invited to put brush, pen, pencil or pixel to paper to take part in the nationwide competition celebrating connections around the River Medway. The competition was split into two age groups: adults aged 18 and over, and children aged seven to 17.

An expert panel of judges reviewed the entries, with finalists’ works going on display in two exhibitions. The exhibition will run from 28th September until 4th October, with the junior exhibition from 5-11th October.

The three winners of the main competition will be announced at a prize giving on Thursday, 28th September, from 6-8pm. They will receive £1,000, £500 and £250 respectively.

Prizes for children will be tickets to an activity park, determined according to age suitability, and the winners will be announced on Friday, 6th October, from 4-6pm.

In the junior competition finalists came from Wainscott Primary School, Byron Primary School, St Andrews School, Rainham School for Girls and St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School.
