The past year has been full of new experiences and challenges. Studying the mix of A-levels I chose has been as interesting as it has been invigorating. History and Politics have broadened my ability to analyse and evaluate information, while Maths and Physics have strengthened my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. History and Physics have been my favourite subjects this year, as they continue to push my understanding and broaden my thinking in ways I find especially challenging. In my PPEs, I achieved As in all four subjects, and I hope to continue this trajectory as I move into Year 13.
Thanks to the scholarship, I was able to take a four-day trip to Rome. I saw the beautiful architecture and paintings in the Vatican, as well as the awe-inspiring Colosseum and history filled ruins of Palatine Hill. I had an amazing time exploring the city — from eating gelato by the Trevi Fountain at 11 PM to standing outside the Italian Supreme Court. It was a trip that I will never forget and always value.
The trips I have taken with the Rochester Bridge Trust have also been incredible. I particularly enjoyed visiting the restoration works at Hungerford Bridge and learning about the different roles involved in such a complex project. I also completed my work experience with the Trust, where I learned what goes into maintaining a bridge. This gave me invaluable insight into the working world, and I found the experience really enjoyable.
Looking ahead to the coming year, I hope to continue building on my skills and developing new ones. I am excited to deepen my knowledge and prepare for my next steps, including applying for university
